Volunteer:
Attention all volunteer-minded citizens. Lancaster SPCA rescue animals need your help. Several opportunities exist for volunteers to work primarily with puppies and dogs, other volunteers, and the public. The following is a list of some of these opportunities.
Community Service Program: LSPCA community service program helps volunteers meet requirements set for them through schools, scout troops, district court and other organizations. We often need help feeding and walking dogs and cleaning cat areas at the Lancaster County Animal Shelter. There are times when we need experienced bottle-feeders, assistance with transport of animals to veterinary appointments, dog-house builders, fundraisers, donation drives, T-shirt designers and other various tasks.
We hold adoption events at various locations throughout the year. You can contribute to their success by volunteering in any of these ways:

Set up and tear down at events

Transport animals and supplies to and from events

Greet visitors and provide information about LSPCA

Concession sales

Help visitors meet and select pets
-
Walk dogs or hold kittens during adoption events
While attendance during the entire event is encouraged, you can still help out if only available during a transport, setting up, or by tearing down afterwards.
Volunteer to help at the Lancaster County Animal Shelter: Volunteers should be 18 years of age or older. Those under18 will need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian and completely supervised throughout their volunteer service. Minimum age is 16.
Liability Waiver: Please note that all shelter volunteers (or their parent or guardian if under 18 years of age) are required to review the rules and sign a liability waiver before their service can commence. These items will be supplied prior to your service.
