Have you ever considered fostering shelter animals?
Have you considered fostering shelter animals? On the fence about it? Fosters provide temporary housing and care (usually a few days to a few weeks) for shelter animals waiting to move to their adoptive home or transport to a rescue. It's a rewarding and worthwhile experience. Current fosters and anyone on the fence about fostering are invited and encouraged to attend the foster orientation program. The classes will be taught by Vet Tech and LSPCA Junior Board Member, Sadie Ferguson.
Kitten/Cat Foster Class: 5/10/22 at 6:00 PM at the Lancaster County Library.
Dog/Puppy Foster Class: 5/17/22 at 6:00 PM at the Lancaster County Library.
Bring your questions and notebook. Please message LSPCA if you plan to attend - LancSPCA2.SC@gmail.com.
We hope to see you there!
Hit the link below for more information about our foster program.

SPCA International Spay-Neuter Challenge!
4/10/22 - SPCA International (SPCAI) has provided Lancaster SPCA with a grant for $7500 in matching funds to be used toward our low-cost spay-neuter program to help provide spay-neuter for pets of community members in need of assistance.
Every donation you make is tax-deductible and will be matched by SPCAI up to $7500! This doubles the impact of your donation!
Spay-neuter is the best way to reduce animal overpopulation, shelter overcrowding, and needless animal suffering. This is the most powerful tool we have to begin to address these issues.

Have you ever considered fostering?
4/8/22 - If anyone is interested in fostering, please fill out a foster application on our website. There are dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens that all need a place to crash, mostly short-term. Bringing them to your home gets them out of the stressful shelter environment, helps them socialize with people and pets and we get to learn their true personalities to get them the right placement that works best for them with the greatest chance of success. Fosters truly save lives! We would love for you to be part of the LSPCA team! Application and more information here: https://www.lancasterspca.net/foster-application. LSPCA provides all food, vetting, and supplies for our fosters. We ask that you supply the love.
Keep in mind the Lancaster shelter has 46 dog runs and limited cat/kitten space. The shelter is at 100% capacity every day. Removing animals from the shelter makes room for the many animals arriving daily, giving them a safe place to stay while waiting for their chance to go home with a foster or adopter. 💜

Free Pet Food Giveaway Day!
4/4/22 - Our next Free Pet Food Giveaway Day is scheduled for Saturday, April 9, 2022 at the Lancaster County Farmer's Market - 1920 Pageland Hwy - beginning at 10AM - while supplies last. The food goes quickly so best to get there a little early! We are usually out of food before 11AM.

Have you always wanted to volunteer with LSPCA but didn't know how?
3/8/22 - Volunteers needed! If you would like to get involved with LSPCA and our mission to help homeless animals, we would love to have your help! We have several current opportunities for volunteers and we post more all the time. Right now we need volunteers to help photograph shelter animals to showcase them for adoption and we need volunteers to transport animals to medical appointments. If you are interested in volunteering and are over 18 years of age, please join our volunteer Facebook page to see the current opportunities that have been posted. More information and application can be found on our website here: https://www.lancasterspca.net/volunteer-application.
